Working with the National Open Youth Orchestra

The National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO) is the worldâs first disabled-led national youth orchestra. It was created following the success of the pilot project, the South West Open Youth Orchestra, which was the recipient of the ABRSM sponsored Learning & Participation prize in the 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society Awards.

ABRSM supports the innovative and inclusive values on which NOYO is based and its commitment to supporting the progression of all young musicians to national level. We're keenly aware of the challenges inherent with such an ambitious programme, and are offering support at the initial stages to ensure its success. The sponsorship will support NOYO with the recruitment and training of its first cohort of young musicians, culminating in the performance opportunities of the first concert series in summer 2019.
