Practical Session 2 Update

We appreciate how much the cancellation of our exams has affected learners and we’re working hard on solutions to ensure they can gain their qualifications at the earliest opportunity. However, on the basis of official and local advice we will be postponing the entry period for Session 2 Practical exams and we will provide an update about the exams scheduled for November – December as soon as we can. Our Representatives will provide further guidance in due course. We are very sorry for the impact on teachers and candidates and thank you for your loyalty and support at this difficult time.

Music Theory Exam update - session 3

The Music Theory Exam on the Saturday 17 October, is scheduled to go ahead as normal. Unfortunately, due to current government restrictions, only candidates who are Macau ID holders will be able to enter for the exam.

Elevate

The Music Commission report, published in March 2019, set out key themes and recommendations for improving how governments, music organisations, schools, teachers, parents and learners, look at progress and progression in learning music. In direct response to this, ABRSM and its four Royal Schools partners – the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, launched Elevate in February 2020.

Elevate is a programme of investment for music projects in ten UK communities, established to better understand how to sustain young people’s musical learning in areas where they face significant barriers.
